Leadership Advancement International (LAI) is devoted to helping the nations of the developing world attain economic independence and political stability. To achieve this vision, we work to provide educational and business opportunities for students and leaders from developing countries. Our current focus is on the nations of Africa.

The initial phase of our mission consists of recruiting the brightest and most capable African students to study at American universities on scholarships funded by LAI. Training in current economic and political theory, as well as state-of-the-art technology, is critical for the next generation of African leaders. After earning their degrees, students will be required to return to Africa to help implement business initiatives-also coordinated by LAI—to aid in the economic development of their countries.

Developing nations face a tremendous challenge in today’s economy. While Western nations continue along the path of technological change and economic growth, Africa falls further and further behind. Government corruption, international debt, and the AIDS epidemic are just some of the factors contributing to the so-called “digital divide?between the developed and developing worlds.
